The Journey

The Journey
As we started walking down this road
I held you in my arms.
Then as you grew, I walked in front
To guide, and keep you from all harm.
And now as we are both adults,
We’re walking side by side.
We lift and help each other.
In each other we confide.
As my steps slow and falter,
You’ll walk in front of me
To be my guide and my support,
Upon you I will lean.
One blessing is, that when I die
And then you carry me,
Our journey isn’t over
For we have eternity.
