Loving The Moment

Loving The Moment
This is the greatest time of life.
I’m loved and taken care of,
There is no stress or strife.
Then as I grew and I could play
And spend my time with friends,
I thought this was the greatest stage
And hoped it would not end.
As I matured a little more,
To the age that I could date,
I thought this was the funnest phase.
Having a social life was great!
Then I got married and we had kids.
The joy can’t be expressed.
Though the work was never done,
I thought this time was the best.
And having children too.
Being a grandma’s the very best,
The most wonderful time, it’s true.
I’m sure I still have life to live,
What will the future hold?
Will I find joy and happiness
In simply growing old?
With all the aches and pains and worries
That could be in my future ahead,
I hope I remember and focus my thoughts
On the blessings in my life instead.
As I lie in my bed at the end of this phase
I hope that I will find,
Represented around me, each joyful stage
As I leave precious family behind.
