Home
Home was a place where we knew we always had a friend.
A place of peace and comfort that we’d come to at days’ end.
The values that were taught to us, we never will forget.
A pattern for the way we’d choose to live our lives, was set.
Watching ‘The Wonderful World of Disney’ while eating KFC,
For our birthday’s we’d have cake and evenly portioned chip ice cream.
We played kick the can and sidewalk tag, had yearly trips to Aberdeen.
We loved sleeping in the back yard with a TV for a movie screen.
Though our memories might be different, the feelings are the same
We’re all grateful it was to this home we came.
Like normal kids, when we were young, we didn’t always get along.
But the need to show a heavy hand was never very strong.
The love our parents shared for us had taught us to be kind
And our desire to not disappoint them was ever on our minds.
Family and the gospel are of the greatest worth.
To gain a strength and love for both is our hope while on this earth.
Our deepest desire for us and for our families
Is to be together, not just for time, but for eternity.
Though our memories might be different, the feelings are the same.
We’re all grateful it was to this home we came.
